Someone tell me again why we can't just run bigger injectors...

Someone explain this. I've had nothing but the stage 1 injectors in my car for two days, and it runs like a champ. Took about 5 min to adjust, and then a few trips up and down the street... No rough idle, no black smoke, no nothing.

I've been afraid to tach it out, but from idle to about 4500rpms it's strong as hell, and smooth as silk. I got the tires to come loose in 2nd gear this morning. I did a 3rd gear run from like 50-75, and the tires were scratching in the damp conditions. It's never run this strong before.

I dont have a W/B, so I assume it's running too rich, but the butt dyno says otherwise...

Regretfully, I don't think there is any way of getting an idea without the W/B unless you take it to get tuned and dyno'd...some places here its like $185 and they'll hook up the W/B for ya.

I guess maybe we can. Any word on your reflash yet? I saw that there were some part number issues or something.

If you run larger injectors and the ECM doesn't recognize, isn't that problem enough? I never had any problem breaking the tires loose in 2nd gear, sometimes in 3rd gear if I had the right combination of RPMS and actual speed as I shifted into gear. I would recommend removing the spark plugs and inspecting them, maybe cleaning them a little, they may be a little fouled with the extra fuel running through them. Let us know how things go.

No offense, but I'm pretty familiar with how the car runs at this point. I also know the textbook reasons that we shouldn't be able to... It never slammed me into the seat in 3rd gear at 50mph... and spun tires.

Still not knowing a lot about these cars, or their stock A/F ratio...do they tend to run a bit lean or a bit rich?
But just a thought, maybe with the 3.1 inch pulley you were running on the lean side, and now your a/f ratio is a bit better with the bigger injectors, even w/out the tune.

Granted this does not explain the increase in power, because the leaner you go, the more power you get.

the fuel trim cells should take care of bigger injectors in closed loop mode. In open loop there is no fuel trim and you would run extra rich and lose power....
