Tired of stage kits need price on part numbers

Since i have alot of off time i could build a new engine. Iv been preety bord and its been 6 months since my last engine build. i got these part numbers from a chevy dealer can any one find me prices? I want to see how much would it cost to make a really fast GM car Vs a 80's turbo dodge.

88958639- full race piston set
88958648- cam set
88958620- billet crank shaft
88958629- aluminum intake manifold to take LS1 throttle body

these are all GM performance part numbers

Yikes! Superbird, you're goin off on a tangent here brother!
Unless you want to end up going "POOF!" like Wiley E. Coyote- listen up.

These PN#s are out of the OLD build book and are for a pure race car with essentially a non-streetable engine.Quite a few people (my self included) have actually blindly ordered many of these parts only to find they couldnt use most of them- unless you use this, which requires you to use that.. it never ends.

Trust me you dont really want these parts unless you own a machine shop and plan to spend at least another $5-7.5K or so (more likely $10-12K)

Where do I start...

1. 88958639 are NOT pistons, those are the 21mm H-11 thickwall piston PINS and yes, they are over $100 each!

2. Due to a different rod journal diameter used with the $4000 billet crank it MUST be used in combination with the 88958618 Crower connecting rods (price THOSE puppies out)

3.Since those rods use a special oversize 21mm pin they must be combined with the GM full race JE piston set- 88958635

4. Since those pistons are designed to be hand fitted into the race block with custom sleeves the required bore is NOT the standard 86mm but instead 86.36mm (about .014" oversize)

*Now so now you are looking having to purchase the GM race block 88958630, in order to use the pistons, which need the rods that require the crank. There actually IS another option at this point- but let me finish the bit first...

5. If you order the GM race block it comes preinstalled with the HD nodular iron sleeves (unfinished) and premachined for the stainless steel O-ringed copper head gasket 88958614

6. The oversize H-11 head studs, which require that you have your head drilled and the flats machined to the precise dimensions to allow for the special flat washers and nuts OR purchase the ported race head 88958620 that already has this work completed.

7. The race head is a whole other thread! Almost anything stock will NOT fit- for instance it has K-line guides designed for the Ferrea valves, which therefore require the Ferrea 7 degree keepers and thus the 350lb Bates valve springs and titanium retainers.

8. The race cam set you specified is NOT designed for the LSJ head (but would work GREAT with the race head of course) HOWEVER you wouldnt have a place to mount your CAM sensor (that isnt used on the race head) which wouldnt matter much since you couldnt use your stock ignition since the billet crank has NO provisions for mounting the 58X reluctor wheel used with the LSJ.

9. that intake manifold is designed for a turbo, did you want to go that route??

Whew! I could go on.
Trust me I went through ALL of this over 3 years ago when the first Ecotec build book was released.

IF you are SERIOUS about increasing the durability of the LSJ engine I can give you some suggestions (and a great many others here as well) but first off throw that OLD build book as far away as you can and get thee to the new build book ASAP

I suggest you PRINT IT OUT and read it cover to cover 3 times- then read it again.
THEN
Do the same with the 4 part 300+HP LSJ buildup articles
Then we'll talk

i reserched it alot more it would be cheaper just to drop a ls1 in it and call it a day.AC Delco makes there performance parts to work with each other only and not around stock parts. I would have to get rods at a stand alone fule management system with that hoe bag and i dont want to waste my time
