Fuel Injector Question

All right, I have a question for all to puzzle over. Are smaller fuel injectors (like in the stock RL) more efficient (better mpg) than larger ones (like in Stage 1 kits)?

I know that the larger injectors can inject more fuel/unit time and can therefore use more fuel which is less efficient in terms of mpg. So a few assumptions/restrictions to guide the discussion:

* Assume that only injectors are changed, i.e. no reflash or higher redline limit, or any other mod.
* Assume that you accelerate the same as with the smaller injectors.

Would your mpg go down just do the fact of larger injectors? Or stay the same?

Yes, because the injectors would open for the same amount of time as if they were the smaller injectors, resulting in much more fuel per 'squirt'.

With a reflash, it would depend on how you're driving. No under most part throttle situations, yes under WOT.
