sounds like a coffe grinder

When driving along at about anything higher then 20mph, and letting off of the gas , my car sounds like there is a small coffe grinder in the engine? What is the noise. Its an annoying noise, not to nice like the whine of the super charger. This is my first blown car, so some of these noises i don't know are normal or not.

Um...if you wanted a refined car you probably should've bought an rsx. This is the caveman car and don't mess with his jar of marbles.

(I believe it's the supercharger's blades "spooling" as in slowing down when not in use...at least that's what I tell myself.)

It's far more likely the be the tranny rattle that everyone talks about... not the 'supercharger blades spooling'... I'd love to have a spooling blower....

I've noticed a similar sound with mine if I let up on the gas at pretty much any speed (it may just be above 20, but I never let up on the gas below 20).

It's mildly annoying, but mostly because I'm used to that zippy little supercharger sound.

I assume it's just the supercharger slowing to a stop... Anybody think differently?

mine does it too... i have only had the car a little over a week, but im certain its the tranny rattle everybody speaks of, and i dont think its harmfull... just anoying. i believe there is a fix for this noise but it involves opening up the tranny, and i have heard the noise comes back. these are just things i have heard though, i could be wrong.

The supercharger doesn't stop unless you shut the engine off...

As long as the crankshaft is turning, so is the blower.

The sounds that this car makes can be maddening as well as beautiful : I'm still amazed at how quiet my RL is during hiway cruising. But at WOT it's like 50 garage bands playing a Pantera song while confined in a moving van.

Bottom line, that noise is normal and you'd better learn to like it....or at least turn the radio up.

I don't drink coffee much less grind the beans..........My supercharger did have that "can of marbles" sound to it after installing my Billetflow pulley though.........
