Crappy tires

I've heard about our stock tires being bad, but I never expected to have blisters on two of my tires so soon. Extremely annoying and I can't afford a new set of tires....crappy

Crappy? I don't think I'd call them crappy, hell they stood up to time trials as well as any racing tire they were running. They only real problem with them is straight line grip...

Spoon -- could you expound upon that? I find them AWESOME in the corners, but you're right, something about accel. strikes me as odd. Not sticky enough (hence tons of spin - hop - and spin into second?)

If I could just put down the power without hopping or slipping the hell otta my clutch, I'd be a happy man.

That sums it up right there... they just don't wrinkle and grip enough when you apply power. Then responsiveness of them are very good.

At least you don't have a Cobalt, our tires are the crappiest EVER. I was pretty impressed (and envious) of the Dunlops on the IRL.

Though I'm gonna try to Auto-X and track race this summer, I'd still love to get a tire that's as good as, or SLIGHTLY not as good, in the corners, and have ones which give me better accel, given our tempermental 1st. I do a lot more red-light, er, fast accel. than I do tracking.

However, one thing I do like about the lops? 15,500 miles on them, rotated them again, and damn if they still dont have tons of tread left. And I drive it like I stole it...even though the bank has me by the balls for four more years.

oh yeah those pirelli pzero neros suck
Dunlops stock are good in dry weather...they suck in the rain (trust me you'll die if you go over 60 mph)...there are a lot of cheaper tires that are better.
If I ever get my 17's back I'm going with the general exclaims...they are supposed to be awesome.

You could always do what I did and bought hankook k106's until you can afford something better...they're like 60 bucks a pop and a decent v rated tire (but I'm not sure if they have them in 215 45 17...I have 16's).

I like the Dunlop's in the rain. I've gone WAY faster than I should've and in my cavy I probably would've died (if the car could even drive that fast...) and I felt safe with the dunlop's.
