Can't figure this one out...

Symptoms:

1. Increased gas mileage. I'm getting 50-60 more miles to a tank than I used to. I used to barely reach 200 to a tank. Now I get over 250 to a tank. My driving style has not changed either.

2. Loss of power. Especially noticeable in 2nd and 3rd gear pulls.

All of this started after I had my intercooler wiring fixed. You all know about that small problem. I can't imagine it's just a coincidence, so I think the intercooler fix had something to do with it. If my intercooler pump isn't working than the wiring fix wouldn't have changed anything at all. Any ideas? Thanks.

I thought I remembered people saying they got WORSE gas mileage with the intercooler wiring fixed, and more power, so maybe they flipped it back to the wrong way? :P dunno otherwise though, i'm sure someone will chime in though

Well I noticed an increase in mileage as of late as well. Was getting 250ish, now I get right around 300. I fixed my intercooler wiring last summer, but I don't think my pump is even working now. I will find out next monday.

How do you get 300 miles to a tank? What's a sure way of telling if your intercooler pump isn't working? When I got my wiring fixed they ordered and replaced the entire connector rather than take the wires out and switch them. I don't know how they could screw that one up.

Entire connector? I didn't see an easy way to get the connctor out in one piece. It connects into a main harness and goes to who-knows. I tried to find it so I could pull it out and do it out of the car.

Maybe the replaced it with one that was also wired backwards...

As of late I've been getting around 310 on a tank. The sure way to tell is when I take the car into the stealership next monday. But my obervation of the fill neck leads me to believe that its not working. There is no flow of the coolant in either direction. As for the mileage I do mostly highway driving, and I don't beat on the car.
