Air Conditioning.

Since it's starting to get warm I just started using my Air Conditioning in somewhat hot conditions (70s) and it hasn't been cooling that well. It absolutely sucks when in stop and go traffic and then it starts to cool but, it's still not what I would expect. Anyone else have this problem or do I have another "Freak 04 Problem?"

I fired mine up today just to test, and all seemed well. I just idled with it on, but it was pretty cold.

I think my HVAC unit could be to blame it has made a very annoying squeeking sound since about this time last year. Might be what's wrong.

Mine did that at first! Then it went away. I mean when I first owned the car, not today. It was horrible at like '2' on the panel. Been squeek free for quite sometime now...

Well my AC Pump is making a horrible sound. I think that the pump might be bad. Though it could be the fact that I did get in an accident and they might have forgot to refridgerant in it. I guess it's going into Saturn.

Yes definetly. If they had to disconnect the condensor, it very well could be leaking slowly at the connections, or maybe they were just cheap when they re-filled it. Other components may have been damaged from the impact too. I would take it back, and notify the insurance co. that paid the claim. The shop that fixed it may need to supplement the ins co for additional parts to return it to pre-crash condition.

some time the control faces go bad.. other times the sqeaking noise is due to the blower blades hitting the housing... their is a TSB out for it and it's expensive if you don't have warranty to cover it

Could be a crapped out cooling fan as well. The SL's are notorious for that shit.
