Shut my Exhaust UP!!!!

Ok I just installed my magnaflow cat back last night and it rocks but I have one problem with it. 0-4k it sounds like a muffler. I know im being retarded but listen. You know you can hear when something is making a sound? I can tell my muffler is well muffling and producing a very deep tone Im sure most love. My friends all think my exhaust rocks but I hate the deep sound it makes cuz lets face it 4 cyl dont sound nice. I like when I can hear my engine and not my exhaust, like how the car sounds stock with a pulley and intake. Now I barely hear my pulley and only the exhaust. How does one make an exhaust quieter to the person in the vehicle. Dynamat? Some kind of sound absorbing heat shield? If anyone has some suggestions let me hear it. Thanks Guys

Yeah sound dampening will help out alot. I use the spray on stuff from Stinger, it does a good job and is light weight, and you can just spray it on the outside so it's much easier to install...

hes right my brother has that in his bug huge difference... dynomat weights 2 tons.... take out the matting in the trunk its stuck on the bottom of the carpet looks like shreaded fabric eliminate that and stick dynomat to that works well that way you can take it out when you race or what not if that helps you. along with the spray stuff put alot on the inside by the wheel well in the trunk that would help as well good luck man.

also by removing the stickers would create less drag and weight so you could put the dynomat in there and not worry about weight

Yeah, you just put your car on a lift, or jackstands, but the lift is much better for this, and then spray like 2 coats on the exterior sheetmetal of the trunk and rear wheel wells.Make sure you get it nice and thick behind the muffler heat sheild. I did the whole floor pan and my car is as quiet as a BMW. Like Jason says, their carpet padding also works good and when added with the liquid, it should get really quiet . It will also make your stereo that much louder too!

Oh and you can get it through any stinger dealer (mostly all car audio shops). I actually got it on ebay from a seller called, uuuummmmm, I wanna say caraudioconnection, or somethin' connection I think, can't remember, but if you search, you'll find it.

the dynamat extreme is the best out, secong best is raamat available online... at near less than half the cost pretty much the same stuff... or if you want to be really cheap you can drive over to your nearest home depot or lowes and pick up a few rolls of "peel -n- seal" used for roofs asphalt based and almost the same stuff as reg dynamat except has foil on it for heat reflection... whatever you use make sure the surface is super clean use like a rubbing alch, or a light bit of laquer cleaner on all the surfaces before applying it.. trust me it will make a huge difference... hmm hang on let me find something for you to read.... itll help a lot...
