boost blockage???

ok, I was running the 2.6 pulley last night and Spooner and I were logging on the interceptor. I maxed out at 16.2 lbs of boost??? then we disconected the vacuume line to the actuator and as soon as we hit 16 the car went into limp mode. every tiime we tried to go above 16 it would limp out on us??? anyone have any ideas??

Don't forget the add that it was the P0068 code... interestingly enough...

I wanted to compare the size of your pulley with mine before you left, but you were gone too fast.

Also, didn't you feel that you had an issue with your blower? That's another possible source of a loss of boost... We need a few hours to go over that thing, and do some testing.

Well, I'm stock, save for ghetto ram, and I've been throwing similar codes, much like this.

Spoon suggested I check my lines, which I'm going to do. Oddly, I can take it up to 5000 rpm or so if I go slow. It's WOT in 1st or 2nd that knocks me into limp mode...I'll let you know what I find.

I'll let you know what we find. thats for sure. I just can't figure what it may be. I guess I can swap the s/c from my wifes and rule that out. that is easy enough. also I can change the map readings with a maf-t. other than that I could start swapping sensors and see if it is along those lines.

I'm hoping against hope there might be something wrong w/ the lines. Or that I might have too much air flow, with the short ram so close to the MAF.

It's very, eh, hairy to not know when your cars gonna hit an invisible brick wall

yea that is scary. I don't understand why with the 2.6 it only boost to 16.2 lbs at 6800 rpm or so. just mind boggeling. has to be that actuator. the other problem with shutting down the actuator could be oil on the maf sensor. I will try that again after cleaning it.

What's interesting is the code that forced the limp mode... it's a rationality check...

Is he just getting P0068?

As Dan said in response to me, "it's a code set when the calclated air flow rate is more than expected for more than .2 second." Makes sense, I guess, for an intake issue, over the MAF.

What about P1182 & P2102? If he was throwing those, too, something bizarre going on on both our ends...

I just think my MAF finally decided it didn't like the filter.
