locking gas cap

I just bought a locking gas cap, because gas is suppose to hit 4 dollars this year and I don't want anyone stealing my gas. I was just wondering if anyone else has one, and if so is there anyway to get that plastic piece that holds it to the car on it?

Yes,

If you bought the one from saturn, and it's still the smae, the new locking gas cap still has the groove for the plastic connector, but it is a little smaller and thinner. It's like they have a connector for it, but didn't supply it. (STUPID.)

So you have to pull the one off the old non-locking and sand down the lip on the new locking gas cap in order to slide it on. Then you also have to sand the plastic piece a little thinner I think. It's been about a year, but it will work. We've had ours on since we got it.

my wife puts the gas in most of the time, without the tether we'd be short a cap pretty quick I think.

And if she didn't lose it, I would.

So, IMHO it was a good idea to use it.

What I did was just completly remove the entire old setup and just have the locking gas cap able to come out freely bc of it being locking and all... I wanted to have it connected though... but I mean THE CARS LIGHTER NOW!!! IT ADDS LIKE 50 EXTRA HP TO THE WHEELS!!! JUST LIKE THEM RICER STICKERS!!!

I'm pretty sure someone siphoned gas from my Malibu, once. Which is kinda funny, since I had C16 fuel in it.
