problems after header install.. need help

the company i work for put a header on my 05 RL and in 1st gear when i get to 6000rpm's the car "hickups" and then continues to 6500rpm. it only does it in first gear and right at 6000rpm.

does anyone have any ideas on what it would be and how to fix it.

pace setter header. its the header for the stock 2.2 eco, but its all the same.(ports, flange). they're going to make a diff on w/ bigger runners for the SC, but they left this one on my car for now.

any ideas on how to fix it?

I'm not trying to start anything but I think your bouncing off the rev limiter. The reason I say this is that our factory tachs are very slow responding so what you see as 6000 may be 6500 and the exceleration between fisrt gear is very quick and not easy to judge.. JMHO..

I have seen this myself but I have alot of mods and a lightened flywheel (makes the revs climb very fast).

a 2.2 has smaller ports than a 2.0 its 1 3/8" vs. 1 1/2" dont sound like much it is also i think sinisters right on this one.

Agreed. When I first started driving the car I would find the limiter before I even knew it. Usually at the top of 2nd.

mine will do that too..... but i know its not the limiter. cause normally its in 2nd gear, and it still accels after it 'hiccups'..... so i know its not the limiter cause i got the madninja rowing skillz yo!.

and the pulse of the exhaust? ...... no. i find it extremely doubtful that a 'non tuned header' will make a car 'hiccup'... i doubt jason smiths header does it? doen't look like it was tuned. scdyne wasnt. more power is made from tuned headers, but not nessecity.
