Stage Reflash > BKR7E

Most of you know ive been trying to figure out why my car sucks after the stage reflash and all my other work. Well I pinpointed the problem. NGKBKR7E's. I put my stock plugs back in with the stock .039 gap and my car pulled hard as hell gave me more boost more timing more air and more fuel. To make sure my I was high on fiberglass, me and my friends are attempting to make a fiberglass enclosure for the past couple days, me and my buddy with the GT went out and we raced 5 times all from 40's. I beat him by 1/2 a car the 1-3rd time. The 4th time we tied and the 5th time he beat me, IAT2 at 171 so you figure it out lol, by 1/2 a car by powershifting the hell out of his car and I think his tranny is gonna take a dump on him in the very near future . Anyway we both came back to my house and his car smelled like clutch and my car was making whining noises and such so I had to put the key in so the fans would run and cool it off, IAT2 was 209 when I put the key back in so i know my car was not happy lol. Anyway the exhaust I hated now sounds amazing, sounds like stock until you get on it then it sounds great. So in conclusion going colder on a staged car with all this crap done to it is not good

I was just joking. It's pretty easy swapping plugs anyhow. Thanks for the info though. That does explain why it has been running like shit.

I have those same plugs in, and my car seems to enjoy them.... Maybe they were just shot? Or were these new ones?

How the heck do you get your intake temps that high?? Is it real hot there right now? I guess that would make sense... when it was 80 here I was only getting to the mid-130's after quite a bit of running hard and testing.

I'm guessing quite a bit and 5 full throttle runs from 2nd to top of 4th gear back to back to back to back to back in fl weather will do that. as for the plugs sp00n you dont have any exhaust work and I have a complete header back with a high flow cat so maybe thats why I cant use the 1 step colder.

Well, you have a honed manifold and you've increased the flow from the the axle back basically, not like you've got mega flow changes in the exhaust there... Now if you had a real header and a 3" exhaust, it would be different...

So, if I'm reading this right, I should stick with stock plugs when I run my 2.9" pulley?

If that's so, anyone think my lack of boost issue in the past few weeks has to do with the fact that they opened the gap back to .045 from .035 on the stock plugs??? Could I have lost my boost right there???
