Exclamation How can you tell when the clutch is slipping?

Hey guys...well, title says it all...I installed my 2.5" and 60lb injectors on Saturday and now my car won't let me go past 5200rpm in 2nd!!! I doubt that there is enough slack for the belt to be slipping right now on there and I do have the 172=rich code coming up so I didn't know if this is something with my clutch or my engine keeping from letting bad things happen. It is almost as if it is bouncing off of 5200rpm like its a rev limiter.

I already ordered my clutch last Thursday so it will hopefully arrive and be installed on Saturday. I have someone that will do it for $300 so I'm going to go to him.

WHAT?????

but vandy, your symptoms don't describe a slipping clutch. a slippin clutch is when the rpms increase while your speed doesn't. i.e you hammer it into second and slam the gas, but your RPMs shoot up, but your speedo doesn't.

another way to tell is go uphill in 2nd or 3rd gear, and keep your speed the same and watch the rpms.

superbird your trick isn't really totally right.... if you want to do it your way.
you put on the handbrake, and try to essentially move the car while in 3rd/4th gear (4th is supposedly better to test). if you're able to let the clutch go without the car moving and not stall it, clutch is fried
