Unhappy Stage 1 flash problem - car doesn't want it

I spent over 6 hours at Kelly Chevrolet today with my brother and Blue N Boosted. First problem was that no tech wanted to do the work because John Kelly gave me a break on the labor costs and they didn't think they would get paid enough. That's another story on it's own. Once the work started (almost 4 hours after I got there ) the tech got the injectors in, after almost an hour. When he started to do the reflash, the car "wouldn't take it," whatever that exactly means. They tried 3 different VCI #'s and are going to get back on the phone with tech support tomorrow morning. As of now, I have no working car and no understanding of why it's not working. Anyone have any issues like this or any understanding of why the car "won't take" the reflash?

When they tried to flash mine originally, a similar thing happened. In the end, the "Techs" in TN had them reflash the car back to stock, then try again and it worked - no one knows why. Mine's also an '04, so maybe it's related to year???

So, I'm confused, did the VCI work and the flash didn't finish installing, or did the VCI not work at all? It sounds like they got the flash started, and then it was interrupted. If the reflash was interrupted mid-way, you might be getting a nice new PCM in the morning. With mine, they couldn't get access to the flash with the VCI they were given, but there's nothing that occurs with the PCM in that case. If they got to a point where the PCM isn't working, then it would seem that some sort of reflash was taking place, and something occured during it. Leaving your car lobotomized. A few things could cause this. Check the thread about Tibbet's PCM, Wop has seen a few fried like that.

Yeah I've been following that thread. The techs weren't very specific with the service writer (a friend of mine, who was relaying what was happening because the techs dont like "people hanging over their shoulders") so I'm not sure exactly what they mean by it "not taking." I don't know if it was interrupted, or didn't start at all. They said the car's not starting, which would make me think it was interuppted at some point. Either way they ran out of time tonight with tech support (because they took so damn long to get started on it in the first place ) so they have to continue in the morning. I hope I don't need a new ecu, because we just installed the ladder tach/boost gauge. I would need to pop those pins out if they were gonna replace it or I would need a whole new harness from amishland huh?

No, the pins for your tach are in the harness, not the ECU. They'll replace just the box itself.

Sorry
Just not enough information on what went wrong for them
When was the last time you had an PCM software update???
IIRC on an 04 they would want to do a regular update FIRST to get the PCM to the most current state, THEN reflash it via VCI

Well I'm still not sure what happened but I just called and they said the car is done. I'll have to talk to the tech myself if I wanna find out exactly what was goin on because the service writer who I've been talking to (a friend of mine normally) just didn't seem to care enough to ask. They drove it, it took the flash, and it's running right, so I'm not gonna complain. I'll see if I can get more info or not, but otherwise I'm just gonna have to chalk it up to just taking a while. Alpha said his car took almost 5 hours to get the flash to work as well, and his in an 04 also (and at a different dealer). Not sure, but I'll be happy to finally be staged.

Yep, just got home with the car, from Alpha's. First thing I did was check that limiter before I was far from the dealer. Got to Alpha's put in the 2.7" pulley, and the car is running like a champ. Thanks for the help guys, eventhough I didn't have much info to go on.
