From what I remember Spooner saying [and if I understood correctly], its our cars "torque management", from what I understand it pulls timing while allowing rpms to climb, then at a certain rpm or after certain conditions are met, the torque management is turned off and timing is restored.

I believe that is what he said, if you search "torque management" you should find some posts on it, or just wait for spooner or someone on here to correct me or say I am right [which ever]

My cure for 2nd gear lag was HP Tuners + 05 Calibration + Mild Tweaking.

yea i was about to say the say the same thing as hp tuners, isn't the increased rev limiter supposed to help with that 'lag' as well?

Nah. Just gives ya the extra "umph." I rarely redline the car (I know, I know) so I don't even see it. I only kicked the redline up to 7k so that I could shift when the tach said 6500 w/o nailing the fuel cut.

The 05 tune gives more midrange (not yet dyno f'in proven) and removes the 2nd gear hiccup (at 4500, if memory serves.) I tweaked the TQ management beyond that to make gear transitions smoother.

My goal in tuning this car was not ultimate top end power, so I think I'm in the minority in that respect. I spend most of my time in the 1st three gears, so I wanted the smoothest feel w/ the earliest onset of power.

HP Tuners easily fixes the problem.
