for those with the CRUISE CONTROL issue!!!!

like many of you, my cruise control had a mind of its own. it basically would decide when it wanted to work and when it didnt(usually on long trips). I drive about 30 miles down I-4 to work everyday so this was beggining to get to me. unlike some cars, there is no cc module on these, its controled by the pcm. after countless reflashes and "can not duplicates" and even the pcm being replaced, the problem remaind. well, a few weeks ago i realized that sometimes... only sometimes when it wouldnt work, if i fucked with the set/rsm button enough, or finessed it in just the right way, i could get it to work... though usually just the "set" side of the button would work, and the rsm/+ side would not. so i told the dealership i thought that the malfunction might be in the set/rsm button itself. they replaced the button, and the cc has worked flawlessly ever since.

i know alot of you guys have experienced the same cc problem... you may want to try having that set-/rsm+ button replaced.

Well, I think there is another CC problem, that has to do with riding the clutch. It burns out the switch that signals the clutch is ALL THE FREAKING WAY out. In city driving, i have my toe just BARELY on the clutch pedal, but now my crouise is dead . I'm taking it in next week hopefully

sombody mentioned that to me before. i messed with the clutch when it wasnt working and nothing changed. and if the switch was burned out, it probably wouldnt work any of the time instead of somtimes. but i dont ride the clutch, even in traffic, if im not shifting my foot is on the floor just in front of the clutch. if you continue to have problems, give the button a try man, cant hurt.

Well, my 06' has the glory of On*, and the second it stopped working, I pressed the friendly blue button, and they ran a diagnostics scan. They said the clutch position switch has malfuntioned and that CC may be effected.

Mine acts up if I fuck with it too much (hold down the accel/decel buttons to speed up/slow down). If I set it and forget it, it works fine, if I want to accel/decel, I just push the button the amount of times per MPH that I want, and it works fine like that.

Anyone here ever 'cruise control race'? Where you set it, then both cars hold down accell and race!!!

If I set it in 5th, at low speed, my gf's auto ion can kick my ass! When she holds it down long enough, the dam thing will downshift and take off, while i'm still bogged down at 2k rpm. Any other gear I woop the shit out of her.

That's the only way I can get her to race me. But it is funny/fun as hell. because it really has NOTHING to do with hourse power, but CC programming.

I had Onstar do a diagnostic and here are the exact words:

Quote:
powertrain system detected a malfuction related to the trans/clutch system. Trans and clutch will continue to operate however the CC system may be disabled.

Is this pretty much what they told you? I don't really care if the CC works or not, I just don't want to damage anything else. I'll take it to get fixed when I bring the car in for it's first service, but if that's all that's an issue, (the CC) I'm not in a rush.
