k&n intake look at these pics...

this is why i get water in the filter.. does yours sit where mine does?? if so i cant believe no one else has got water in theirs... it just runs right down onto the filter:

look:

and if you look though the hole in the previous pics...

you see what i mean??? the positioning of this sucks the water runs right down bewteen the fender and the hood and just pours straight down onto the filter. ive tried moving this thing all over the place and it just cant go any higher under there...im gonna have to try to make a cover i guess for it or ditch the cai all together. we have way to much rain here it pours every day during the summer i cant drive like this

My filter sits further back and higher up in the wheel well. I've never had a problem with getting water in the intake, now motor oil, I've found that in my intake tube.

every body probably has a little motor oil in thier intake tube. that breather tube or whatever it is that runs from the back of the engine to the intake has a tendency to drip motor oil right on the MAF sensor.

Get a catch can for the breather, of just get rid of the hose all together and put a filter on the other end (I've heard this smells funny though)

i dont see how it could sit any higher or further back... the filter just doesnt fit up any farther unless you mash it up there and it touches everything..i wonder if k&n changed filters or maybe the piping.. i got one of the first of these when they came out..?? i sent a pic to k&n via email and they said it sitting right where it should be... can you see the filter through that hole behind the turn signal?? but yeah if i push this thing up any farther htne the plastic fender liner hits the filter its basically touching it now...

I have one of the very first ones also. I ordered it the day it was released. The top of my filter does rest against the filter. I'll check to see if i can see my filter in a little while and post back.

Do y'all have a drycharger? Mine was one of the first ones also, but I don;t think it goes there. I gotta check tonight to make sure.

OK. Took a better look at those pics. I'd have to say mine sits farther back. And on a side note, I emailed K&N about the tubes seperating all the time. They told me that they had not heard anything about this and that it must be an install issue. Oh well. I just tightened it up again until the next time.

just had a customer come in and looked at his... he has the drycharger on ,,, his sits in the same place as mine does...it really cant sit any farther back.. mine already basically is touching the inner fender lining. if i move the filter or pipe back any farther it is then pushing outwards on the plastic and the tire rubs up against it when you turn it.. mine is sitting basically as far back as it really can. i may be able to aim it up higher but then when i look through the hole even mmore of the filter is exposed... so thats even worse. i have the aem dry filter on its way now im trying to find some kind of shield to fit in there to cover the top of the filter.. now i wish i bought one of the weapon r filters with the full shield on it where just the top is open this would have solved the problem but not sure if it would fit under there. this car is constantly pissing me off..... damn.. waste of more money...

Mine sits in the same spot, but I have the prefilter on. I've never had an issue.
