Post Car Just Dies While Driving

I just bought my 04 ion redline. I was on the freeway going about 70mph and then it just died. Please help me because I don't want this to happen when my kids are in the car. I took to the dealership and they had it for two days and of course they found nothing wrong with it.

Hasn't this happened to some other people?

I swear, if mine does this, much as I love my car, bye bye.

Also did you have the Camshaft Postition Sensor recall done?

I had my throttle cable (the electronic bus connector) fall off while I was driving the other day. The car died while in a WOT 2nd gear highway run. It is zip tied back on now.

She just got it so she probably isn't familiar with the issue.

She said '04. Can't be a new car. Most likely already done. PM me the last eight of the VIN and I can check for you about that. Good call, though. If it hasn't been done that could be it.

PREEEETY sure it is used then...maybe the previous owner had issues and just sold it to get rid of it and the dealership didn't do it.

I don't get this...shouldn't it be a mandatory recall for '04s? I.E. I'm cruising @ 80mph around a curve, car dies, bye power steering and brakes, hello coffin?

No, it doesn't happen to all 04's...its not like where the Pinto ALL the gas tanks are in the same place. They don't want everyone bringing it in unless thay have the problems that are listed for that particular TSB

Yet if someone gets in an accident....I just don't get that. Major lawsuits there. That's like my one fear, car dying @ speed...
