Car went crazy on Sunday.

My wife was driving it and the car randomly threw a check engine light and went into limp mode on her.

We were meeting people at a restaurant so she didn't drive it to far in limp mode, i was in another car and know she didn't do anything. After eating started the car up still had the check engine light but no limp mode drove it to a friends house engine light still on but car drove fine.

Me and the guys decided to go golfing while the women stayed behind we took the ION check engine light was still on while we drove there. Finished golfing started the car up NO MORE CHECK Engine Light. Hit a bump faster then I should have on the drive home and the car just shut off (the car didn't even bottom out). I just put the clutch in and turned the key and it jump started while moving.

Drove to work the car was completly fine not one hiccup.

I think the check engine light and everything is being caused by a loose battery cable this happend to me once before. Comes up low voltage code. But I havn't had time to check yet so I will after work or on my lunch break.

Any other Idea's?

Usually when the CEL clears, the code is still stored. If you have HPTuners, it is still reported, but just as a "stale" code.

I thought it just shows as "history?"

Also, get a Interceptor gauge and all is good then.
