Having some problems, a few questions.

Hey wuts up people? Ive been having a few problems lately. Ive had my car for about a year and 2 months now, and i never had any problems with it up until recently. I have a welfare intake, 3.15" pulley, and a muffler as my only power mods. Its been going into limp mode atleast 3 times a week now, and it happens both with the ac on and ac off. It happens when you either downshift and floor it, or in gear at a high rpm and floor it. At first the check engine light will come on, and then it goes right to limp mode. Ive been always getting the p0171 all the time, but it never went into limp mode. Ive had the p0171 come on right at the staging lane at the track and still run the 1/4 mile without it going into limp mode. Now recently its been going into limp mode. I checked the filter its kinda dirty, the throttle body is dirty to the touch, and i noticed that the inside of the supercharger has some black stuff that looks like carbon in there. I dont know if thats normal or not? Also the filter smells like it was burning or something and the inside of the intake piping has some kinda oil looking stuff in there, not alot just 2 small spots. I dont know what it is, but its starting to get to me real quick. If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks and sorry for the long posr

Step 1: Get rid of that stupid intake mod
Step 2: Clean your TB

he's right, it's been pretty much determined that the welfare intake is a guaranteed way to get codes and limp modes, get rid of that ASAP, it's a total waste and will cause more headache than you want.

go for the k&n and you should be alright, but definitely get rid of that welfare intake as soon as possible to solve those issues

Is the spot where you crank case 'breather tube' joins the intake 'dimpeled' into the intake tube itself? Did that make sense?

Oh, and get rid of that intake 'mod'...

The spot where the breather joins the intake is fine, theres nothing wrong with that. Im gonna put the stock filter back on and clean the tb and see how it is. IS that black deposit in the supercharger itself a good thing, or should i look into that?

The blower actually has a 'crumbly' black coating on the rotors, so what looks like carbon might just be that...

I just got back from getting the car scanned for codes. Well this is what i got. I had 4 total. I got the usual p0171, p01182, p0068 and another p1182. I never had the p01182 and p0068 come up, this is the first time i got those. I dont know what it could be, but its really getting annoying because i cant even drive the car like its suppost to be driven. If anyone has any suggestions other then puting the stock filter on, please let me know.

Thanks

We've seen many people go down this path, and they've all tried everything under the sun to fix it EXCEPT undoing their stupid ghetto mod intakes.

Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation: Get rid of the ghetto mod.
