Knock on 2nd gear because of hard shift ?

When I shift into 2nd hard there is a loud bang coming from the trans mount bottoming. This probably causes a knock detection and the timing being pulled. Which is why there is lag on the shift to 2nd ?

Did it the 1st time I shifted hard. I thought it was due to the weak rubber in the trans mount + the short 1st vs long 2nd. I can manage to shift smooth but I got to slip the clutch just a little in 2nd.

Actually, thinking about this, I tried a stage II redline and it did not do this. However I did not shift it like it was mine.

I test drove a focus ST and it did the same loud noise in 2nd. Maybe I just bang it too hard.

Man you got me. I know the mounts on these cars arent the best. 04redline04 had a messed up tranny mount from the factory!

Yeah I'll bring it to the dealer. I'm just worried they might be pissed I rev it up before 1000 miles. I don't believe in breaking in a car slowly, it's pure BS.

Mine makes a similar noise, but it doesn't do it all the time, and not always under hard shifting. It was really annoying driving around with the windows down, pulling away from a light, and hearing a big clunk. Thats just at an easy 3k or less shift, nice and slow.
