Oil in intake manifold

Ok, so when doing my pulley swap, I took of my SC. Then I noticed that the surface right inside the manifold (those of you who have seen inside of it proabably know what I'm taking about) has a light.. greasy/oily residue. Enough that I can wipe a little off with my finger. What the hell could cause this?? I figured it might be oil and such coming from the breather tube, and smaking the inside of the manifold when it leaves the SC. Do you think that is it? or something worse? It was A LOT by any means, just a haze of oil. I'm thinking a catch can is in order.

questions? comments? concerns?

well, anything in the TB is bound to end up in the manifold. I'm really thinking it was just from the breather hose. That thing is getting catch canned

Bad seal somewhere, or you drove through a cloud of oil. Any on the bumper and windshield?

Aftermarket air filter oil? S/C oil? One of the two is my guess.

not taht I can tell. It really isn't all that much. just a fine misty residue. I really do think it's just oil from the breather tube from the PCV

I would go with the breather fumes... that's why people use catch cans... also where the 'puddle' of oil is coming from with the K&N's.

I actually had the same though after I posted. I don't know how much it will cost but I know on older cars I have had your looking like a $4 fix. Either new PCV, filter, or check the breather hose and make sure it is tight. But take the breather tube off and make sure it is clean. If not, figure out where it is coming from. You may be seeing a symptom of a much larger problem.
