Check Engine & Coolent light

Anyone else out there had there check engine light come on as well as low coolent warning. I was stuck sitting in traffic and my engine started to get really hot, We started moving again and i had to get around a truck so i punched it then my low coolent light came on aswell as check engine light.

Can anyone help....

First, a note. If your car gets hot, the check engine will follow the coolant. A few thinks too look for first. Make sure the coolant is at the proper level. It takes long life. We call it;"The red stuff". Check the condenser fan up front. Make sure it kicks on when you turn on the a/c. If not it could be a bad temp sensor, fan relay or motor. If the coolant level is low, take it to a shop and have a pressure test done on the cooling system.

I agree with Dallas, I have never had my RL overheat, or even go past the middle, EVER. Even during hard runs here where it gets well over 100* during the sumer with the A/C on. I'd get it checked out.
