In my head after sifting through this forum! Good god, do all car specific forums have 30 pages of troubles? I was pretty much sold on the RL, well actually it's sitting in my driveway and now I see all these issues. There's more acronyms in the pages of these threads then a calculus text book. I'm not completely ignorant of cars, but all of you guys seem totally teched out when talking about your rides. I kinda got complacent with starting up a car and driving it, not reading error codes and checking my coolant temp.

Maybe this was a bad move on my part?

Not all Redlines have problems. There are plenty of stock ones with no problems, and a few modified ones too.

Welcome it will be the most fun car you will ever own for under 20K. Don't worry about the problems until you have them, oh and good news somebody has already seen your problem, most likely. Just drive the piss out of the car and enjoy wastin whoever you want.

Trouble free 04 stocker here. Just keep it stock and don't drag race if you aren't up for the alphabet soup. If you do eventually stray there is plenty of help available here. You will also find that this is an extremely active forum. So the percentage of trouble related posts isn't really that high.

I do have one problem though, my ass is a little fat for them Recaros

1/3 of these threads are resolved w/ TSBs
1/3 are caused by intake mods
1/3 are caused by the owners

33 K on a 04 here ... pretty moded and very very very very very few problems .... if any arised it was my own dumb fault

I just turned over 40k this week and I have only had three real problems:

The shifter knob (we all have had this one)

Driver side CV joint leaking...? Don’t know why?

And last but not least... I now have a leak in the flex tube in the exhaust where the cat meets the exhaust head! (This one is fun for being loud)

All under warrantee so it is no biggie... next year will reveal the cars BIG issues I am sure!

...oh yea welcome to the boards...I got lots of problems, but only one has to do with my car, lol...I just like to be the paranoid guy that takes his car in to the shop 2-3 times a month.
