Car wont go into Reverse

So its pretty much what the title of the thread says.. Any ideas? All other gears are fine.. Just wont go into reverse.. I have the B&M so I know I adjusted the cables.. But its been like 4-5months since the install, and it barely happens now? This is weird.. Any ideas????

no ideas on that but man you sure have a lot of problems with your car....I love my car but i hate all these little things that go wrong.

mines doesnt want to go in 1st or reverse sometimes man. i dont have a short throw at all though. usually happens when the cars cold.

are u sure the shift knob isn't screwed on to hard and preventing the lock out tab to move high enough to clear the reverse lock out tab.. just an idea

I thought the B&M didn't use the lock-out feature?

I know it might be a bitch, but you're gonna have to take that shit apart and do an inspection man...worst case scenario (if everything looks good) throw the stocker back in, and see if that fixes/changes anything.

On my car before my Redline, a 1994 Acura Integra, after dickin around in it one day it stopped shifting into reverse. All the other gears worked great, it just wouldn't go into reverse. Well, turned out I messed up my transmission while I was dickin around, so I had to get a whole new one. Well, it was used, but you get the idea.
Thats probably not the case with you though, since you said it started when you put the new shifter on.

when you installed the shifter did the ball that goes to the drivers side fit in there snug or possible binding at all? also the reverse lock out as stated b-4 do you have that stuff in there? and one more does it go into the reverse area/ all the way to the right without going towards the back?


my next suggestion is take the boot section off so you can see it and how its functioning. take the whaole boot section off out of the way completely so you can see everything when you do this look at that greyish clip i told you adjusts everything it might be hitting the bottom of the car. theres a little plastic lip on there it might be hitting.

It has something to do with the shifter cables and /or the reverse lock-out mechanism. Take it apart and do a visual inspection. Mine did the same thing, come to find out my cables were'nt 100% adjusted correctly. Go figure...
