Exclamation Tranny leaking on '06

Anyone else have a leak on the joint between the bell housing and the tranny? Mine leaks enough to leave pink oil on my driveway and at work. It is dripping from that bell housing/tranny joint. My floor pan is all sprayed with the pink oil.

Today the Saturn service guys said there is nothing wrong and no leaks even though the tech noted on the work order that he had to use de-greaser on the tranny bottom side and the floor pan. My car is spotless other than this damn tranny leak. The shifting was already getting notchy feeling warm or cold and more so cold. The car has 5000 miles on it. Should I just drive it until the tranny locks up or how do I get these numb nuts to seal the tranny case the right way? The car will be going in winter storage some time in October.

My car was at Saturn of Inver Grove Heights in Minnesota. It is back at one of our family's Pontiac stores next door until I decide what to do. My car was at the Pontiac store for hail damage repair and delivered to the Saturn store for the tranny work in case anyone is wondering what's going on here

Many thanks,
Mike

Yeah mine has a leak, but it hasn't hit the ground yet, just has a small amount on the bottom side of the housing. I thought it may have been from my torque brace down there...so I tightened things up a bit more, but its still has the liquid on it, but it hasn't dripped. I haven't taken it to saturn yet, but I should.

From what I've been hearing. I wouldn't want to take anything tranny related to Saturn!

And you actually took the car?

I would've demanded that they stop letting blind techs do visual inspections on my car.

Angry

Nah my car was delivered to the other dealership where I had my body work done. Our family owns the Pontiac store where my car got the body work done. Saturn is down the road. The Pontiac people brought my car into the Saturn store for the tranny and brought it back to the Pontiac store. Make sense? I know confusing. Anyhow I talked with the numb nuts service writer at the Saturn store and he stumbled big time when I quized him on the special tools for the tranny. He also indirectly told me that himself and his tech are dumb & blind. I won't let any jackass like that touch my car again. I am in the process of interviewing Saturn service writers to find one that either lies real good or knows what the hell I am talking about and agree's that the pink oil dripping out of my tranny is indeed coming from one specific place and that is the bell housing to tranny mounting surface. It's a piece of cake to see where it is leaking and the tell tale pink slime on the floor pan behind the leak. I wanted to go bitch slap those dumb bastards for wasting everyone's time.

Anyhow, repaired or not, she has to go rest until spring sometime in October before the snow's fly here in Minnesota...

A comparison for example...GF Denise has a '02 ZX-2 Escort. We bought it new in '02. A few thousand miles down the road the tranny developed a leak like my RL has. Simple leak at the case halves where two fit together. Easy fix on this car; Denise calls a Ford dealer that did us some good customer service on her old Escort. We had boughten the ZX-2 at a dealer in the big city. This dealer that her car was going to for the leak was out in the 'burbs of Minneapolis. Free loaner car, 1 week service, 1 axle seal and the case halves were sealed with whatever Ford uses in their tranny. No pissing & moaning, no doubting the customer's word. They just got us into a free loaner and told us they would take care of the car and call us when it was done. The car does not leak today at 70k miles. Why can't Saturn work like Ford on simple new car warrantee work. Saturn service departments are driving their customers out the door and those pissed off customers will go look at other brand cars eventually if not right away. Not a way to run a business.

I have 7K on my 06 and it is clean underneath. I had it on a lift yesterday fixing a screw in my tire and took the opertunity to take a good look. Very clean, nothing leaking at all.

First off, that is NOT typical of Ford customer service.

Second, thats your Saturn dealer not all Saturn dealers.
