Exclamation what does belt slip sound like on these cars??

ok, so I have been systematically removing every single drivetrain related mod on my car, trying to figure out if there is something broken or screwed up that could contribute to excesive kr readings.

damn, my car feels so incredibly sloppy and loose now (not to mention how quiet it sounds too), I really miss how tight it felt with the mods installed.

interestingly, the last components removed were the Bwoody traction bars that were making a significant clunking sound whenever the clutch was engaged/disengaged, shifting, and general turning into driveways and lots, rolling over uneven surfaces, etc.
So I'm not sure what that is all about, will have to investigate it further.

With all of the parts removed the car is very quiet, no more clunks, rattles, or vibrations.

But now that the car is so much quieter I can hear a very strange sound at the upper rpm ranges of 2nd gear and 3rd gear.
I have a hunch that it might be belt slip, but I'm not really sure if that is what I'm hearing or if it is something else in the valvetrain (heaven-forbid) or ???. I really don't know what it is.

It's not a high-pitched sqeal like I've heard on other cars when a fan belt slips.

and the sound only happens at the very high rpm's

any thoughts??

Are you running the 2.7" and stock or GM belt?

Overtightening, improper seating of the bolts, or no lubrication are the most common causes.

2.7 yep,
I have the stock belt with a ZZP adjustable tensioner set to the recommended hole#2 middle setting (2.5-3.0)

yeah, I've adjusted and re-adjusted those things a billion times, this time they were hand-tightened only,
plus they're so lubed up they could star in a porno movie....

I would doubt its slipping then...have you tried to use the #3 setting on the tensioner though? (is it too tight?)

no I haven't tried it yet - just mindlessly doing what they told me to do....

trying to get an idea from someone that has had belt slip issues whether it only slips at high rpm and what it sounds like if possible....
