Arrow 2 CEL's in the past week...

And 4-5 over the past couple months. What's strange is what the CEL's are. I keep throwing the P0172: O2 sensor bank 1 running rich. Now, I have GM Stage 1, with K&N CAI, and Billetflow 2.7" pully. How on earth would I be running rich, of all things. Lean I would expect, but why am I reoccuringly throwing rich codes? What could cause that code to pop up? Sometimes it clears itself (I don't have my interceptors hooked up yet) but most of the time I get the car in the same day and have them check/clear the code. I just had it checked and cleared on wednesday, and it's back. I just wanna know if it's something I should have checked out at the dealer (while I'm still under warranty for the next 3K miles).

Couple thing's I'd try:

1. Check your K&N piping, to make sure it hasn't separated.
2. Clean your MAF sensor.

Wouldn't the K&N being separated make the car run lean? As with the maf being dirty, wouldn't that throw a different code?

Turbulent air from the pipes being separated can cause incorrect MAF readings, in either direction.

A dirty MAF can cause incorrect readings, in either direction. Usually, an oil covered MAF will read low.

Lemme know what your schedule is like next week, I may be able to meet you somewhere or something and get some logs, if you want.

What it means is the car is having to pull fuel based on O2 sensor readout, indicating that the car is trying to inject too much fuel based on it's internal maps. The polar opposite of what the P0171 code is.

Have you looked at your MAF sensor?

Not in the past month or so. I cleaned it a few days before I moved up to orlando, and we've been in the house for about a month now. I understand the the ecu THINKS it's injecting too much fuel, but we all know that with the 2.7, it's kinda hard to do. I haven't been driving hard either this week. The codes have popped up when I was driving the easiest (ie. shifting at 3K, just tryin to get good mileage to/from UCF). I don't know if we have any cleaner I can use on the maf up here, because we only brought what we would need from the garage in ft. luaderdale. I'm gonna check the K&N and see if it happens to be in one peice, or in two pieces like they seem to like to be. I'll check out the maf too and see if it needs cleaned again. Brake cleaner still good enough to clean the maf isn't it?

Also, this is not a WOT condition, this is a part throttle/idle condition, so that 2.7 don't mean jack. I think throttlebody/intake cleaner is better, but I'm not sure on the brake cleaner, I think it was the same.

Yeah I kinda thought about that after I posted, but instead of changing it I figured you or someone would catch it. Under part throttle i guess it makes sense, but if it's not the maf/intake being seperated, what else could be causing the code? With the stage tune, and the 42.5# injectors, I don't understand how i could be running rich enough to throw a code.

Well, I went to autozone to get the code checked and to grab an add-a-fuse thing, so I can finish hooking up my interceptors. The code was the same P0172, so I popped my hood to look for the most obvious thing. And, the K&N was sittin in two pieces. I have to jack it up (I don't fit under it anymore with the B&G's) so I can get to the piece to reconnect. Even without driving it, mid-90* temps outside make the engine a little to hot to reach around, so I'll have to get it from underneath. I wasn't aware that the intake bein off could cause the rich code, or I would have checked that first. I guess I'll know it's not just lean codes to watch out for in the future.
