Rear caliper piston trouble HELP please

WTF??? How do you depress the rear caliper pistons to change pads? I had now trouble using a C-clamp when I did the fronts but the rears will NOT budge. Shit, it already broke my C-clamp. Do I need to drain all the fluid or something? I didn't have to do that when I did the fronts.

And yes, the parking brake is off.

The rears do not compress like the fronts. The rear piston has to be screwed back into the caliper. They sell a special tool at most auto supply stores.

You dont really need a special tool if you dont have one.In a pinch you can just use a small pr. of pliers to mesh into the notches on the face of the piston to turn it in (although the tool DOES it a bit easier)

So I guess it will just screw back out on its own once you re-install the caliper and hit the brakes?

Heh, I had this issue too when I was painting my calipers...I just left the other side on, didn't feel like dealing with it again.

AutoZone lends these tools out. Just put a 37 dollar deposit on it is all.

Works like a charm. Thanks for the help guys.
