Fan runs all the time

has anyone ever had this happen to them? No DTCs have been set, what and where would i begin to look for or troubleshoot? The car runs fine, everthing works, I just always have the fans running full speed.

Check to make sure the ECT temp sensor is plugged in. If it is, it may have gone bad. ALso check the A/C switch. I think the fans are commanded on when the compressor is running (also with the defroster).

I do not own hptuners and haven't ever been reflashed except for GM Stage 1.

My temp gauge and interceptor coolant temp seem to be working properly. Car idles fine, right at 850 and warms up in a about 10 minutes on a cold morning like today.

Although probably unrelated, I am also hearing a high pitched whir that changes pitch with rpm. It sounds a bit like a bad ground or the interference you get on AM radio sometimes. The only problem with that is that it does it with the radio off. Is my car trying to tell me something?

ok so on the way to lunch it came on 10 seconds after the car was started. Remained on no matter what i did, wiggled wires/plugs at fan relay and coolant sensor and ECM, turned AC on/off, flipped every electrical switch. Kept running till i shut down at the restaurant. Ate, had the brilliant idea of checking fuses, duh, and went back out side. I popped the fuse panel cover, and some dude walked past me getting into the car next to me said "Nice Saturn" so I jumped in started up and followed him out of the lot assuming i would check the fuses when i got back to work. I get back to work, and notice the car is running quieter, pop the hood and sure enough the fan(s) are now off. WTF

Isn't there something about 3 restarts after having the battery disconnected for a few hours? Because I had it disconnected last night, to clean it without the lights staying on for hours.....hmmmmm.....maybe they are connected........

You know i dont care if i am talking to myself:

Anyone know the on -off temperatures for the cooling fan? I let my engine cool to 170 and the fan remained on, does this seem right?

nothing seems right. i mean if your ECT is working properly, then its not that that is turning on your fans (that is the same plug you remove for the "fan mod"). So...have you been to the dealer yet? It may be related to some fuse, that you didnt see. Id check every fuse related to the A/C system. Dunno what else to help. My fans never turn on, unless the A/C is on (or i do the fan mod). I have even seen the coolant temp hit 220*+ and no fans...

for future reference, if anyone has this problem, I am now certain it was due to a a black wire terminal in the C-1 connector of the ECM. I tried looking there because I figured it was something i did and i took that connector off when installing the boost gauge ladder tach amishland wiring. Lo and behold one of the female terminals looked pushed in to the connector, which i am assuming happened when i slid out the green retainer to add the new wire and it was the end wire so it was exposed to me moving it. then i must have installed the retainer without notciing that one terminal was not fully seated.
