ClutchMasters FX300 Fiasco

Well, I'm starting a thread that will be the central point of reference for any and all ClutchMasters issues I can find on the net (related to the SS/RL applications).

I'm not badgering CM in any way, but I want EVERYONE/ANYONE who's in the market for a new performance clutch to have everything they need to make an informed decision. (I'll even include the FEW successful documented cases that I can find)

http://www.redlineforums.com/forums/...have-how.html?

Fullthrottle - FX300: ('04 IRL) Self/Dealer/Vendor shop install; Troubleshooting: swapped tranny, bled numerous times, swapped ALL clutch components for new ones. End Result: Tranny synchros are (or going) bad, and will be replaced with new tranny (due to the clutch?).
http://www.redlineforums.com/forums/...ghlight=clutch

MGM1979 - FX300: ('04 IRL) Saturn Service install (3 Master Techs); Troubleshooting: swapped throw-out, bled everywhich way possible (literally), replaced stock machined flywheel for NEW OEM flywheel, swapped Master Cylinder, inspected stock lines, tranny pulled/reinstalled 3 times; End Result: replaced CM clutch for stock.OEM. (pursuing refund/reimbursement through vendor, UltraRev, and C-M)

04RedLine04 - FX300: ('04 IRL) Saturn Service install; Troubleshooting: Bled sytem numerous times, replaced stock lines with steel ones; End Result - replaced CM clutch for stock/OEM.

djt81185 - FX400 6-puck: ('XX IRL) Had professional shop install first time (was first revision) scraped bellhousing and eventually destroyed synchros and gears in transmission. (second revision) installed by myself with friends with a GM SAE mechanic supervising and double checked everything. Still on tranny that first clutch destroyed. Still not disengaging at high rpm. Had trans replaced under Gear Rattle TSB (Had been having since day 1). Same 2nd revision clutch still not disengaging at high rpms but atleast allows to go into gear.

Clutchmasters did send me out a another second version (My 3rd clutch from them) to install but I was soo fed up with then I sold it to another person who says it was working fine...I'm gonna have him double check some stuff for me.

I sold it because I asked for a refund or some financial help on the installs and I received nothing. I worked for a major OEM clutch suplier for 1 year in R&D and testing (Valeo) and I know the ins and outs of a clutch.

So as it sits right now the car still does not shift right with the brand new saturn installed trans and 8 bleed procedures. Its definately the clutch.

PuSha050 - FX300: ('XX SS/SC)

Stay tuned...

Check out SS.net. There are pages upon pages of the problems a group of those guys were having with the CM clutch.

About me posting this - who cares?
OR
About my particular situation - they referred me to UltraRev to pursue the refund, and inquire about how to deal with getting the clutch back to CM (either direct, or through UltraRev).

I plan to...I'm gonna pull everything from here, and SS.com first, and then hit up .net - I know there's tons out there.

dont forget fullthrottle's CM Stage 3...he had a whole new tranny installed. 3 Saturn installs, a Outside install, and he still has problems. The clutch now caused his 1st and 4th synchros to go out...

You guys should seriously consider a class action lawsuit.
