This just started happening in the past week or so. My coolant warning comes on here and there. When it comes on, I will go and look and the coolant level will be around where the 2 tubes meet (right under the resiveur) So, i'll put some in, and literally like 30 minutes later it will come back on. Then I will look like an hour later and will be fine even without adding any additional coolant.
I am thinking that I have an air bubble somewhere. How do you bleed the stock HE? Thats the only place I can think of where it could be. I have "jiggled" the tubing as much as I could several times. And it seems to be fine. But if this potential bubble is sitting to where I can't get to it like that, then it would only come in short "bursts" right?
The level in the s/c will rise and fall depending on how hot the vehicle is. There is a full mark for when hot. IIRC you will see almost no coolant when cold, and about 1/2 inch up the neck when hot. Where is the coolant level in the reservior for the engine?

Knees aganist the bumper, looking at the rear of the car into the engine compartment it is on the right side right above the windshield washer reservoir.

Coolant is a consumable fluid and will be used over time. Not so much on Saturns though. Keep an eye on it. If the level drops down within a day or two, I'd saw blown head gasket or the like.
And the car wasn't that bad. Destroyed both front fenders and knocked it WAY out of alignment. Only fell about 4 feet. Took a nose dive off the rack.

Car was improperly racked on the front end. I was lifting it to repl a fog light bulb and the left side kicked out, jarred the right side, and down goes the front end. The arms on the jack tore both front fenders to shreds, the ground did the rest.

Yeah man, it happened. The customer was not very happy. The really fucked up part about it was that after we got the car back from the bodyshop and aligned and fixed, the damn fog light worked. There was not a fog light billed on that ticket, and no one had replaced that bulb. That just added insult to injury.....
I believe there is a sensor in the overflow tank.. make sure that is good. There was also a tsb on the inter-cooler pump wire harness.. make sure gm addressed that issue before you go any further. I also once noticed a hair line fracture in my overflow tank before and it was losing pressure.. but not much Dex cool.. and even though the Dex cool was were it needed to be i still got a light from it
Just chiming in... I'm having the same problem too. I'm at 97K with a 100K warranty.
Loosing about a bottle of 50/50 every two weeks, so I'm losing coolant pretty fast. The Chevy dealer I have it at claims they couldn't find the leak with either a coolant system pressure test or by checking the compression on the cylinders. They said the numbers are 185, 180, 180, 175, and they claim that based on this it's not an internal problem (head, gasket, etc.).
They said they'll try a new overflow tank cap next, hopefully that fixes the problem. Any other ideas?
