issuses this week :(

so its my Bday and my car decides to give me a pressent....

CEL!!!

so im driving to the auto parts store to get the CEL checked, i look at the temp and its running about 1/8 of the guage hotter then normal.
now today is warmer then it has been for months but still not about 65%.

i turn the heater on defrost and the temp goes down to about normal but if i turn it off it goes back up.

this was in light traffic with a bunch of traffic lights.

Im getting worried now....

i get to the autopart store and use there code reader, didnt have 05 in it so i ran it in generic obd2 mode.

It came up with p1182 drivetrain.

Now all the info ive seen on the p1182 says it has something to do with the intake, i have the K&N but anyone know why it would be running hot and saying drive train after the code??

no i have no performance issues, still have boost and it runs normal except for the higher then normal temp and the CEL.

any ideas???

youre intercooler wiring may be reversed. you may want to check that...that will make the car run hot...so will a intercooler pump that is burnt out.

the car will heat up pretty good in traffic. There is a new dealer re-flash to address p1182 issues (especially when A/c &/or De-frost is on...), check the LSJ engine DTC's thread in the problems & troubleshoting section.

p.s. those TQ fwd braces ever come in?

haha yeah they did a long time ago, still havnt installed them....slacking...

now i know its not the intercooler why? cause i had the pump replaced 3-4 months ago... i some how shattered the housing in 3 peices.

plus last year in 100+ % temps it was running cooler then this...its like the thermostat isnt opening or something

Give all the clamps on your CAI a once over, check your filter, (clean if necc) and make sure your MAF has been installed correctly and NOT over-torqued (just screwdriver "snug" on the heads)

P1182 is one of the "rationality" (things just arnt jiveing) type DTCs that is commonly set by CAI- especially in certain ambient temperature windows.
Once it warms up a bit more you likely wont get it again
Wop

PS> Happy Bday!

The one time I had the 1182 go off was when I had the SCIP sensor (the little one on top of the blower) retaining screw back off, so a little air was leaking around that. A drop of locktite and that problem was solved

Hmm, never seen those come loose. Was it ever replaced or did you have it off at one time?? But that'll do it of course, pretty much ANY leak on EITHER side of the throttle plates
Wop

Not that I am aware of. I had a lot of trouble right when I bought the car with a mysterous P0068 (or 69) that turned out to be a bad wiring harness. The dealership replaced a bunch of the airflow sensors, I know MAP and MAF (maybe SCIP), trying to figure it out.

so the code is gone now and hasnt come back yet.
That night i went to chevron and put a tank of their primium in it.
after about 30 minutes it stopped and hasnt come back yet since.

car seems to be running better now, not getting hot like it was and the weather today is even warmer..

I think my car was just mad at me for something idk lol

This is the exact problem I am having on my stock 04 Ion RL. The code comes and goes.

My car is out of warranty, is this something Saturn would do free of charge?
If not, how much do they typically charge to flash the computer?
