leaking header

the weld on one of my header tubes has broke and now there exhaust in my engine bay yay! seems like theres always something wrong with the car anymore. heres a pic...

ive asked a few trusted sources if i could just get that welded while its on the car but they say its a safer bet to just take it off and get it fixed. what do you all think? header install and removale is such a pain in the ass though.

it looked like good quality when i put it on and they claim that has never happened once before but of course i get that one that has a defect or whatever...

its just all the mad power coming out of the engine. that exhaust has been played with so much im going to just say fuck it and put it all back to stock.

pull it off and have it welded if you cant do it contact Jason smith im sure he would help you. if that dont work take it to any reputable midas or muffler shop or what ever and have them weld it again.

Headers have been causing exhaust leaks since the begining days of hotroding. I'm plenty happy with using properly ported manifolds, instead. Good luck.

Yeah, headers are made for leaking. If they didn't leak, then there would be a problem

I'm just fucking with you. I am happy I never bought anything from Intense. It seems like everyone has had issues with their shit.

You're never going back to stock, stop your lying!!

your right matt because even with all the bitching i get from the gf about how loud the shit was im still putting together a header/dp combo in my head that im going to try to get away with... lol

current idea....that header with a highflow cat welded into the dp ive got plus stock exhaust = resitrictive as hell towards the back but i could open the dp for track use or even put a dump on it.

its cuz you are still running the stock mounts... and with the amount of power your making plus the amount of track time your car sees, so much engine movement puts alot of unwanted stress on the header. the flex pipe on the downpipe only flexes so much.

welds on headers breaking due to engine movement is an old problem on LOTS of cars.
