coolant message

So what all triggers the coolant message b/c as far as i can tell i am right at the fill line on coolant and it went off on me a few time in the last week. Twice at the drag strip and once on the highway last night while just crusing at 80

My coolant isn't low and there shouldn't be any reason the i can think of for it to be going off while cruising. At the track i assume it's because everything was getting hott but i'm not sure.. theres no need to be a smart ass

The fill line that you are talking about, does it say "LOW"? You need to give some additional information here....

could have something to do with you coolant in your heat exchanger. mine still says low coolant since I installed my cobra heat exchanger cause it's still bleeding all the air out.

Two totally different systems. One is for the engine, one is for the heat exchanger/FMIC. The second system does not have a coolant level sensor at all.

That should be an easy check with HPT. What is IAT1 and 2?

The low coolant switch in the surge tank might be acting up or the circuit to the BCM may be open/shorted somewhere.A blown EMISS fuse n the underhood fuseblock can also cause this, But you would also have a CEL as there's other items (O2 heaters, MAF etc) that get B+ from this fuse) What happens if you unplug the switch and JUMPER the 2 wires WHILE the message is present?? (bottom of coolant surge tank on LH fender -2 wires yellow/blk and pink/blk)
Does the message go out??

Actually the "Low Coolant" warning has nothing to do with the Intercooler system whatsoever.
Just the level of coolant in the engine cooling system surge tank
