Well I took my car to Saturn and after checking the car out for 3.5 hrs they agreed that the CAT was clogged and replaced it at no charge to me . The car runs great and I am a satisfied customer..

When I first saw the title and who posted it I thought, "He's been around long enough, he should know it's a clogged cat". Guess you did. Glad it's running properly again.

Hey, I was just wondering what some of the signs were that your car had a clogged cat? I think that my car does, but my dealer will not replace the cat unless the car flashes a code for it. I get the rotten egg smell and lately i have been getting horrible gas mileage. Averaging about 17 to 18 mpg, about 200 miles on a full tank of gas, some times less. My car is still under full factory warranty, bu they will not replace the cat.

there's an 80,000 mile warranty on the cat. Go to a different dealer to get it replaced

Do you think that another dealer will redplace it even if it doesnt throw the code for it??

maybe, don't know. I go to Saturn of Medford. They're great there. I could ask them, service writer is a friend of mine and they've got a great mechanic that knows the redline

I have been going to Saturn of Raynham on route 44, but have been having problems with them, so last week I went to Herb Chambers Saturn in Seekonk on route 44 for an oil change. They were ten dollars cheaper and the whole dealership is so much better. I'm going to try them first and then try Medford. I'm hoping to get the cat issue fixed along with my power steering light, now that I still have full warranty. -Thanks for the suggestion
