Well, I honestly didn't plan on messing with it for a while, so I'd have to see where things sit at this point.

do you have any other mods than in your signature? (ex smaller than stage 2 pully)

What were you doing when the piston broke?

Just curious

Thanks,
Chris

I have 3" pulley, I was on my way home from work and I noticed an oil smell, I thought it was the car in front of me cause they were smoking. Then all of a sudden my check engine light comes on and I go into (what felt like Limp mode) I pull over to the side of the road and pop the hood and I had Oil all over the engine bay, the dip stick was popped. The car wouldn't start for like 5 mins. and once I got it started I went to the Chevy dealer ship and got a ride home from the girl. The car sat at the dealer for a week and a half, til I got paid. They said originally that I had a bad MAF sensor and intake pressure gasket. they took care of that and then test drove it and then called me and told me the dip stick popped and oil spewed all over the engine, check engine light was gone though. They did another compression test(Not sure if they really did the 1st one) and came to the conclusion above.

those you can swap from your old piston (if they are ok) if your not getting the cylinders re honed, the ones from my motor are not broken in on yours so I cannot garuntee a good seal.

No one really knows why #4 craps out, but it's one of two things:

1. Too much air.
2. Not enough fuel.

The only thing you can do to work around the issue is the exact same thing GM did to work around the issue: Tune rich.

If you continue to tune this car pig rich as GM did, you might save your engine (but it'll cost you O2 sensors and cats.)

I'm not trying to thread necro, but wouldn't getting your egt in #4 help you to avoid said problems? Your temps would rise drastically before it popped. LL0's toast #4 all the time too, plenum and egr design.
