Gas Cap

Ahhh...gas cap why do you bother me. Of all the codes to throw p0455 and a "check gas cap" display. I just replace it because it's never loose.

This was the 3rd or 4th gas cap I've had to change from the factory cap. So I thought I'd ask who has had trouble with which gas cap?

I think I've used:
Adams(?) (autozone?)-8 bucks
Stant-10 bucks
Some brand they make in Israel (from strauss auto)-15 bucks

Of these the best would have to be the adams it was the cheapest and lasted the longest. It's a stupid code and really shouldn't be a dtc in my opinion. The israeli cap lasted me a whopping 2k miles...sigh...it was really chintzy too (as much as a gas cap can be).

Anyone have experience with a better cap?

I still have my factory original. I've never had a problem with it.

My damn gas cap is stripped, like the ratcheting inside part. It won't tighten enough. That's the only code I have ever got!

You guys have had gas cap problems?

The only reason I replaced mine was because my mom was bitching at me about how people stole her gas in the 70's and I was tired of it. I bought a locking one instead. It works pretty good, except I put it on wrong the other day. Fixed now.
