codes and strange whistle sound

Ok well ive looked over a bunch of threads for the codes and found that

p0171 something to do with the MAF
p1182 something to do with vacuum

and the weird sound i get where the vacuum line connects to the manifold then runs to some plastic thing theres a piece of foam or something that makes a whistle noise when driving what is it what should it be hooked up to and how do i get rid of these codes dealership wants 80 bucks to check the codes out and prolly another 4bajillion to fix them
I read that the KandN intake has somehting to do with both of them i think any help would be great.

I know theres a million threads on this but i read a bunch and still dont understand

check your air filter , i use to get 1182 all the time until i put oem filter and clean the tb. good luck

what do you use to clean the maf its sitting right in front of me

vacuum leak....fix wherever it is coming from

The red arrow is where i think the whistle is coming from the vac lines are no longer those clear tubes but rather real vacuum line from autozone but my car didnt have any of the vacuum lines on when i bought it. So i took hole off the manifold to a T to the back end of the thing with the arrow, then to the bottom of the cannister thing. but that thing is wide open.

and for the codes i took the maf out sprayed it with the cleaner let it dry plugged it back in and let her run for like 20 mins then turned the car off. The engine light went away then about 30 mins ago it came back. Im getting frustrated and weary of my car.

1182 is a "too much air" code (ie lean). I got it with a 2.7 and (sometimes) 2.8 pulley, I never get it with a stage 2. I got 0171 sometimes with the same setup and when I go all the way through 2nd gear (~1.5k-7k rpm) when I want to piss people off with the sound of my intake. Could be a vacuum code but if I had a leak it would show up with any pulley I use and it doesn't.

change your setup or get someone with hptuners to turn it off. You can also use an maf translator to tune slightly richer which will work.

DUDE...seriously don't clean the MAF sensor...you're not supposed to and it's expensive to replace.
