Exclamation Flooded Redline!

My car got flooded today by flood waters here in Martinsville. I got it to dry ground and let it dry out for several hours. The water got up to the the bottom of the door sills. I checked the oil and it doesnt appear to have any water in the oil which is good. When I turn the key it will turn on the radio and the dashboard cluster will light up. I tried popping the clutch in 2nd to turn her over, it did kick over for less then a second but died right after.

Any suggestions about what I should do to get her running again.

(I would love to get it on a lift an look in the intake for water but I dont think I can get to a lift anytime soon)

Maybe a new starter (maybe alternator as well)? As long as you didn't suck any water into the engine it should be fine.

Take off the intake if you have an aftermarket intake and let it air dry outside the car.

Finally, if you can get your car to a slope try a hard start...get it rolling pop the clutch and try to fire her up; see if it starts...if not...you may have a major problem.

I have to say...the faux 2.4 redline in storm grey looks pretty good but it's still lame.

Make sure shit is dry before you try to start it and cause a bigger mess.

Unfortunately, yes it was running. I was trying to get it to higher ground to avoid damage... that didnt so much work out. I actually pushed it out by myself then had someone tow me to a lot higher ground.
