WI Rain and my car.

Ok so for the last 3 or 4 days now Wisconsin has been getting pounded by nasty storms. Lots and lots of rain. Tonight by the girlfriend I hear my alarm going off on my RL so I went and shut it off. Well when I got in the car to leave I started it up and my two over head lights stayed lit as if they were turned on but they weren't. I then drove for about a minute and then they went off. That was weird because I never noticed that before. Well just as I was about to pull into my driveway my door locks started clicking randomly, and then my two over head lights turned on and off really quick. It was as though my car was posessed (sp). So my question is, should I be worried or is it just the wet soggy rainy weather we have been having.

Oh and I started the car about 30 minutes later to run to the store and it was fine?

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Almost sounds like your alarm system was either arming or dis-arming itself over and over again. Could be a sign of moisture getting in somewhere or wiring exposed when it shouldn't be.

that very well could have been it. its rained non stop pretty much for the last 3-4 days and i know yesterday we had 5 inches of rain in our rain gauge. everything is soaked beyond belief so i'm sure there could be moisture in where it shouldn't be.

My work truck has been acting up too because of all this rain. I got misfire codes and it turned out to be moisture in the wire harness.

A person I use to work with had the same thing happening [doors would randomly unlock over and over, interior lights would come on and turn off] and it turned out to be a short in the alarm system [not wet, just a straight up short]. Moisture can cause electrical shorts very easily so it could be your problem. I can't tell you that it is, but if everything is just soaked there I would be the system got wet or moist.
