Problem with second gear

Alright, so I parked my car last night, everything was great. Today I hop in it and start driving, do a slow shift from first -> second, grrrrrrrrrrrind, however it goes in gear and grabs fine. Shift into third and come to a stop sign, downshift from third->second and no grind.
I kept driving for a while, and if I center the stick before shifting from 1st-2nd it goes in sorta-semi ok (grinds a tiny bit). Any downshift is OK, even a high RPM shift from 3rd-2nd.

I have just installed the B+M Short Throw and the dealer put in a new clutch. Ideas?
I was thinking shift linkaged adjustments maybe from the B+M?

It is probably cable adjustment if the problem just started since the shifter install. Start with that.

Im going to pull the B&M and check the cables tomorrow. When you do burn up a synchro is it a gradual thing or is it just bam gone?

thanks for the help everyone, I just spent huge dollars on the clutch hope I dont need a new transaxle to .

good luck buddy! i hope its not your trans as well.

you know what, double check that they bled your clutch enough.

i would get on level ground with the clutch in and in 1st, rev it to 6600 and see if it moves, if it does get that bitch back to the shop and have them bleed it again.

Ok just went out for a drive:
- double clutching doesnt seem to help anything, the grind may be slightly quiter thats its
- If I center the shifter (ie line it up with gear 3/4) and then go into second all is fine
-car at stop it goes into second just fine
-When I pulled up, clutch in, in second gear, the motor wanted to die (ie releasing the clutch w/o using throttle to move car)

Im thinking a bleeding issue because of the last point, but alignment because of the rest !?

Another thing that may shed some light on my situation that I never though of before. I was driving up to my buddies farm house, and the road got muddy QUICK. Got the car stuck, got a tug from his truck and got out of the mud hole, parked it there overnight. After this is when the grind into 2nd started. Mud move something or in something maybe? Not to sure what to check here im new to MT's (driven lots just never owned one). Also how do I go about checking my shift linkage alignment(I know to take the shifter off to get access to the linkage cable w/ the clips)?

Confusing

A syncro, will most likely get gradually worse, when it starts to go, you will have problems at high rpm's due to the fact that the friction material in the syncro ramp won't be able to speed up the next gear for nice engagement
