06 Redline stage II goes in limp mode and SES all the time

06 Redline 30 000miles.
mods = stage II installed by dealer, problem happened for first time not long after the stage II install.
No other mods
Codes P0068 P1182, always together.

Happens when downshifting and flooring usually. It can happen while cruising but rarely. It happens when staying at high rpm for too long. Ex when cruising you downshift waiting to pass someone and you wait for a few secs. BAM SES light, have to stop on the side of the road.

Cars runs great when it's not giving the code.
If I drive a certain way I can make the code appear most of the days.
When you drive slowly and don't pass anyone the car can run good for weeks. However the check engine light might come on.

This annoying problem that almost caused me to have a head on collision happened when I tried to pass a car on a two way road. I floored it to pass and there was a car coming fast in the other lane. I had the time to pass however the SES light came on and I lost almost all power. I couldn't accelerate. I braked to merge and the car I was passing braked also. I braked more, he did the same. I had to go off the road to avoid the car coming my way !!!!
Fucking GM, pissing me off, I hit the Saturn emblem in th steering wheel with my fist a few times, that didn't fix the problem. It does it often especially when downshifting and floor it. Or by downshifting and staying above 4K for too long. It will go in limp mode SES light and I have to wait a few minutes and restart the car. Or I can reset the codes with the OBD-II reader.

What do you recommend my dealer fixes. When I bring my car to them, they always says it's normal. I will argue with them till I'm blue...it's normal.
And for some dumb reason, I can't duplicate the problem when I bring it in.

The car also has MAD torque steer. So much the car is a danger to drive when accelerating in 2nd gear on road that isn't perfectly flat. It sucks that GM denies this being a problem and doesn't want to pay for aftermarket mounts or even replace the factory ones. They say it's because the car is powerful and that it's normal. FUCK OFF, my 550HP talon has almost zero torque steer. I can floor it with 2 fingers on the steering wheel on a rough road.

As far as the ses and limp mode i dont really know, unless you're hitting the rev limiter when downshifting. I'd take it to the dealer and tell the tech to take a ride with you so you can duplicate the scenario. The torque steer is normal, its because its a fwd car with a bad tendency to wheel hop. You just gotta keep a nice tight grip on the wheel. Do a search and you'll see lots of people have commented on how bad it is.

No it's not normal. When it was nearly new, it didn't do it as bad. I think the motor mounts are shot. Dealer says they are perfect.
BS.

I've had 3 FWD with over 350HP been modding them since 1996. None of them had torque steer nearly as bad as this one. And it's only making 240hp.

Heck my 1984 Shelby Charger with 27 psi of boost on a T3/T4 with 350hp but 400+ft-lbs of torque with NO power steering didn't have that much torque steer.

Even when I hold the steering wheel real tight and the car doesn't go straight.

I've been doing a few search and this is what is coming up. I'll have the dealer check it out.

Worst part is I am a mechanic who modifies car as a hobby. I refuse to do work on a car I'm paying good money for that is under warranty.

I wonder if I put HP tuners in it if I can correct whatever is causing the codes to come up. Seems like the ECU does not understand the airflow coming in. Maybe some sensors do no agree with each other.

btw I'm not hitting the rev limiter. It will do it sometimes at 4K @ wot. other times I'll start at 3K, pull to 6500rpm then SES light. I have stage II so rev limit is 7000rpm.

It even did it once just cruising around. It did it at part throttle around 4500rpm, when I was waiting to do a pull on the highway.

I want to bring my car to a road race track but I know the piece of crap is going to throw a code during a lap. Especially since I will keep it in the revs all the time.

The best I understand it, the MAF sensor is really picky, and a new air filter and cleaning the TB fixed it for months on my car. I'm to the point where I need to clean it again, because it's starting to throw the same codes. I have HPT, and I've looked at the data, but I don't know how to tune that error out... I guess it's probably better in the long run to just keep the TB clean.

I've been considering a PCV valve catch can to help with this.

I might do the PCV catch can. I've always done it on my modded cars.
