beat by a civic?

I was on the freeway and there was a civic in front of me, i got up next to it and we both went for it at the same time, i hit 3rd then hit forth and i wasn't even pulling on him at all, First time actually getting on the RL this fast, was prob going right around 100 in 4th gear with the pedal to the floor and he was staying pretty much dead even with me, so is this normal or what? I would expect to have KILLED this civic, it was like a 92-95 hatchback, had exhaust, and not sure what else, didnt hear a turbo or anything special like that. This just seems weird to me, I thought my car would have done better......


I'mnot sure if this is normal, but I notice on my car to that when im in like 3rd gear at about 3500-3000 rpms and i put the pedal to the floor it will be kinda sluggish, rather than if i give it a little more than 1/2 pedal, does that make sense? and sometimes if i floor it and let off as i let off i feel the car gain speed more than if i still hold it to the floor. Any ideas?

sounds a LOT like your plinxter flange has a leak...pretty much a dealer fix but pretty expensive if you are out of wannanty.is it throwing any codes??

or he coulda been sprayin naws. you'd be suprised how they do with just that, i know i was.

or he could of been a swapped h22 b16 k20, etc... car weights fuck all and you can make 200hp easy in those things.. would could easily keep up or roast a redline.

I was thinking the same thing. There's a guy at work who has a '93 Civic hatch with the h22 and it halls ass. Don't sweat it he'll do what all civic drivers do eventually put a crap load of Neons and leds on it that shoudl weigh it down so you can beat him next time. But seriously honda makes some good motors and he probably has one in his hatch.

there are a few k20 hatches around here....but the fastest hondas around here are the b-series (b16 and b18)
