transmission light

Any ideas why a transmission light would come on randomly with 56,000 miles. Clutch still strong, knocks in to reverse every once in a great while. Other then that not shifting issues. Any help, or ideas, would be awesome.

the yellow light? that's not a transmission light, that's a check engine light

yep...my bad...checked the manual...makes sense right?...so it monitors ignition, fuel management, and emissions. Im not having any ignition trouble or fuel so perhaps its an EGR valve or something? I saw someone mentioned autozone checking codes for free? does this hold true?

Yes, Autozone should be able to scan the DTC light for you free of charge. Write down the number and use the search function here and you will get more detailed info on the light.
