Arrow Drivebywire throttle problem

Whenever I depress the clutch to shift, and at the same time let off the throttle, the engine does not rev down, as expected. The revs blip up 100-200RPM, then drop off. This makes smooth shifts near impossible. This is only a problem driving in normal city traffic.
No problem with fast, competition style driving.
Has anyone else experienced this? Dealer says nothing is wrong, that this is normal(?)
If so, have you found a fix?

the only thing i can think of is that the tach is still catching up to the engine and it just seems like it is reving up and then down.

By your description I think you are experiencing what I experience quite often. This engine is slow to decelerate. I haven't seen mine fluctuate up in rpm, but I know that it did take some learning on my part, how to shift smoothly when the rev's won't drop off like my old 68 Cougar. Get on the gas, it goes......Get off the gas, no fuel, no run fast......It has to do with the drive by wire system. It takes a moment for the brain to tell the fuel to back off. Definitely room for improvement.

Not a brain fart- it is software, and it's intentional. The slight "delay" in negative "throttle return" response occurs only within a particular RPM band and is designed to prevent a rich "spike" that can cause a backfire in the exhaust as well as higher emissions and potential TWC damage.

WELCOME BACK!! There's a whole thread devoted to where you dissapeared(sp) to. To add to this thread, wih that not decelerating at a normal rate, I've found that it makes the 1-2 shift the hardest to get smooth.

I get plenty of backfire (nothing loud...the standard pop-poppa) when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd, 2nd to 1st. I actually like the sound...and assumed it's normal. It isn't?

I don't think the reversion you're referring to, which is common in free flowing exhaust, is what WOP was meaning exactly.
