Does the TSB also come with a replacement intercooler, or is it just uncrossing the wires?

I have an 04 Redline (which I just got used) that has the wiring problem, and when I took it to my local dealer, she tried to charge me $84 to have it fixed. I'm not sure if it's because the warranty ran out or what, but yeah, call ahead before you drive out and get quoted $84 to get it fixed (when it really should be covered no matter what since it's a factory problem).

no, it's just the wires getting reversed...go to a different dealer, tell them that it's losing power when it's hot...you have to say it that way...
or you can just cut the wires, get a couple of connectors and a crimping tool...you just splice the wires, crimp on the connectors and cover the connections, some use electrical tape, but i used what's called "heat shrink tubing"...won't unwrap or wear with heat, the heat makes it tighter...that's what i did with mine, i would've rather soldered it together, but didn't have my iron handy...i can even send you some of the tubing in a letter and you just heat it with a hair dryer if you'd like...it's easier than it seems to do it yourself, took me like 8 mins...

Hmm, I did say that and she knew what I was talking about, but she said something to the effect of TSB# were not recalls so it would cost me to fix it. It is a warranty issue, so if you still have your car's warranty, it will cover the fee.

Yeah, if you want to shoot me an email to ptessmann at Gmail.com I can give you my address for some heat tubing for when I'll probably end up doing it myself, that'd be great, thanks.

Good news.

After being quoted an $84 "diagnosis" fee, I called the 800 number in the back of the manual and told someone higher up what was going on. Took the car back in Tuesday morning, got a call today saying I was right and that they fixed it for free.

I can't believe they tried to charge me for something that was wrong from the factory, but oh well, it's over now. Thanks for bringing up the information, Amishland. Now I don't have to worry about my car overheating on my trip from MI to NC. :-)

glad it worked out...see, call the main co. and they'll take care of everything...as long as you complained correctly they should've done it from the get go...

My mistake was mentioning the TSB number at first (I think that's where the charge came from), but the lady I talked to was a tool, so that didn't help any either. Greg, the guy I talked to from corporate, was really cool and helpful.

Thanks for the help Silver.

Well sure enough I have an 04 and just got tuned with a 2.8 and 60's and sure enough i go and make sure I am pumping and... nothing completly dead in the water. And to make things worse when i disconected the wire from the pump to check the voltage it threw a code at me. so now I am really lost the car is under waranty with the factory and an extended "aftermarket one i got from the used car dealer. I just hope they look past the fact that I have mods and fix the damn thing. And another thing would i be loosing coolent because the pump was shot I am always filling that thing up.
