Thanks!

Thanks to all who provided this info. I bought an '04 IRL three weeks ago and saw this post. Went under the car and sure enough like everyone else here, my IC wires were reversed. I however took the shortcut (cut, switch, crimped, taped up then tucked back into to the wire loom) and definitely saw a difference.

Before, the coolant wouldn't even move, now I can see how it streams the coolant. Haven't noticed a difference yet but I know this should make a difference in the long run.

I have been trying to get this pump working since last August. I originally reversed the wires to the right position. I thought everything was ok. I never compared it to another car. Just a few weeks ago while getting my car
HP tuned I had the guy turn the pump on while the engine was off and that confirned that it was not working properly. You could hear the pump kick on and the sound of the electric motor running, but no flow at all.

Just this week I got another pump from a forum member who was parting out his wrecked car. Just got done installing it and I get nothing. I checked the voltage and I get 14v at the connector. The positive is connected to the positive on the pump. I am at a loss and very bummed.

I think I will see if I can get the pump I just took out bench tested somewhere to see if it is acually working.

Anybody have any idea's?

As of right now it looks like ill be taking her into the dealer and forking over all my money to get this thing working properly

Anyway i never got it into the shop because i got hit and its in the body shop. what do I say to them to get it fixed i know the wires are reversed and i know that it is not pumping coolant. can you guys please help i dont want that "are you f ing kidding me look again" and secondly if i hear the guy in service tell me one more time that saturn wouldnt wire part of their car backwards i might just flip out.

Tough Haul
I would maybe print this picture out in full page color and give it to the tech
(and tell him he can keep it for future reference)

Think the 05 Cobalt guys know about this? I know there is a VIN break for us, but do you think theirs just came fixed?

For sure my engine is cooler sense the intercooler reverse on my car. I have asked many many cobalt ss/sc and redline 06 owners in person about the coolant meter and they have said that they have gotten theyres above the half way line... I can't get mine above that before the intercooler kicks it back down to about 1/2 - 3/4 through the second bar on the temp meter. I also believe that it helps with HP, as was stated by Ender long before the wiring change. So it can only help by switching these wires into the correct position.

LEmme get this straight. There has been a TSB on this issue since '04, yet this is happening on '06 models?

Has it happened to any 06's? Mine is completly fine. Flows like a champ.

Also, I think the TSP cam from 2005. And many/most 06's were built in 05'
