Sheek.... that blows my mind that could still be an issue on an '06! If I was a manufacturer that had a problem with something I made for the previous two years, before I made new one I would MAKE SURE to solve that problem first.

NR, yeah I pinched it a little lower and a little harder and the fluid shot right up past the open book with the "I" on it (Thats what it looks like anyway) in otherwords it flowed up about a 3/4 of an inch from the cap.

When I let go though it stayed around that level. Should it have rushed right down again to where it started before the pinch?

It'll come back down, you just messed with the 'balance', I guess might be the way to put it, of pressures from one side of the pump to the other. A few mintues of driving, and it should go back down

But the good news is, your pump is fine!!

For what its worth - I was in my saturn dealer today getting this fixed.

On THEIR alldata, it says the black is negative, and black with white stripe is positive. I asked to see it and the tech showed me.

They refused to fix it because it went against what their computer said. Wouldnt put a voltmeter on it either for some reason, so just be aware that you may have to fix this yourself.

What Saturn dealer uses ALLDATA?????
If they are they are NOT following GM P&P
The GM schematic in the online eSI system (that they are SUPPOSED to be using) shows black as + and blk/wht as - in EVERY model year of the Redline from 2004 to 2007.
I'm not sure how ALLDATA would be different anyways as traditionally they are just scanned reprints of the factory schematics.

He had me worried, I just took my car in to saturn to get this fixed. I swore to the guy i've seen schematics of the correct wiring, and what the colors are supposed to mean.
