I just heard about this from a redline owner today. Pisses me off too, because I had my car in for something related to performance when hot, and they topped off the coolant level in the intercooler, but didn't reverse the wiring.

That said, I have 51K miles on my redline, evidently without the intercooler. Is my pump likely fried?

The pump will happily spin backwards, but if it gets too hot the impellar can break.

I was lucky enough to find this early. I noticed a big lack of power when hot and questioned it at my dealer. They asked me very specificaly "Now you say it lacks power when hot?" I said it seems to hesitate... they asked again "Now you say it lacks power when hot?" So I said "um, sure" Then they fixed it. I noticed a marked improvement...

ive been noticing a decrease in power lately after i drive for a bit, not driving hard but just cruising for a bit then i go to get on it and it seems like power is missing.. i checked the wiring and it is ok, but i tried the pinching tubing method and only a very little bit of fluid came up prolly only like a half an inch up the tube if that.. does that mean my fluid is low?? will the dealer fill that under warranty? i also noticed that the 2 screws that hold the resevoir are missing and the resevior is just hanging out in space..

i crawled under mine and found the striped wire on the + side! just to check, i gave the hoses a good squeeze and no fluid movement up the filler neck. i just ended up splicing the wires several inches back instead of removing the connector, then tucked them back into the loom, and taped it up. went for a drive and did the pinch test when i got back. fluid shot up to about an inch from the top of the filler neck. i assume its fixed now, thanks for the info guys!
